UNT MENS POLO WINS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

NEWS RELEASE -- APRIL 18, 2023 --OAK POINT, TEXAS-

The University of North Texas rec sports Polo Club won the D1 USPA National intercollegiate Polo Championship April defeating Texas A&M 20-7 in the semi finals and UVA 14-9 in the finals avenging their loss from last year, led by brothers, Vaughn Miller Jr and Vance Miller III and their Dad Coach Vaughn Miller Sr, the team has now become the dynasty program in the sport of College Polo. UNT Teammates, Andrew Scott, John Dencker, and Niklaus Felhaber all contributed to the victory Vaughn Miller Jr and Andrew Scott, won All-Star awards and Andrew Scott won the sportsmanship award.Senior Vaughn Miller Jr was the leading scorer in the tournament with 17 goals. The team looks forward to competing next year with returning players Vance Miller III, John Dencker and Niklaus Felhaber, and hopefully repeating the victory. The game will be aired nationally on ESPNU Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 6 PM CST giving UNT National exposure and will replay several times. read the story on uspolo.org and in the Denton Record Chronicle
